Dancing in the Dominican Republic

by Lauren on September 3, 2015

There is a charming city in the Dominican Republic called Jarabacoa, also referred to as “The City of Everlasting Spring,” given its temperate climate – both a tropical climate and over 1,700 ft above sea level.  It’s also the starting point for the trek to Pico Duarte, the tallest peak in the Caribbean.

What the guidebooks don’t mention is how easy it is to find a dance partner in town, even in the middle of the day. I stopped in a local bar with a friend, attracting before long the attention of several shoe-shine boys, one of whom was a fantastic dance partner.
